Steve offers individual counseling, and child counseling for ages 12 years old and older. Primarily using Cognitive Behavior Therapy techniques to address the inevitable emotion based challenges. I started ADHD coaching for AZ Family Life Counseling & Coaching in 2017, and have additional knowledge of how executive function deficits affect everyday life. Before earning my master's degree in counseling I was a Christian school & public school administrator, so I can assist parents in getting accommodations to help children improve academic performance in the classroom.
My goal for my clients is to help you become your best version of you by tapping into God-given talents and internal sources of strength. I recognize the blessings and challenges of having a mind that operates faster than normal. My approach is supportive and structured within a nonjudgmental environment. If welcome, I can incorporate Biblical concepts also.
Brains need nurturing, stimulation, and rewards to thrive. Together, we build a bank of working coping skills that include emotional regulation strategies, art therapy, mindfulness breathing techniques, guided imagery, progressive muscle relaxation methods, problem solving, target setting, and effective communication techniques.

Rena brings knowledge and experience navigating the conversations you and your family are having. A place for mom, appropriate level of care for dad can often be stressful. Bring your questions to us and Rena will make you feel heard, and give you valuable advice on how to approach these sensitive and stressful discussions. You don't have to go through this process alone, we have your back, and can bring to your attention things you may not be prepared for. All clients develop a draft with critical talking points specifically tailored to your situation and your family members involved.
Rena has been bringing her creativity and enthusiasm for 10+ years to clients of all ages and intellectual abilities. Come to the office on Saturdays or schedule zoom sessions.
